Ronald (Ron) Tow, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 10, 1929 in Armstrong, Iowa to Obed and Emma Tow.

On February, 25, 1948 Ron enlisted in the United States Navy where he served 21 years and retired as Chief in May of 1968. Ron and his family then settled in Wheaton, Illinois where he managed KFC restaurants for 8 years before purchasing Mission Beach Resort in Merrifield, Minnesota in 1976 and ran the family resort through May 2021. Ron was also a school bus driver for Crosby-Ironton School District from 1977 to 1994.

Ron married Lois (Miller) Tow, the love of his life, in May 1954. They enjoyed nearly 70 years together. Ron and Lois shared six children, Paul (Pam) Tow, Barry Tow, Monte (Sandy) Tau, Rona (Kurt) Lortz, Shelly Baardson, Shirley (Rick) Reinert, five children, 15 grandchildren: Stephanie, Shane, Courtnie, Chelsea, Cameron, Erick, Amanda, Ryan, Lindsay, Sheridy, Cassie, Marylee, Dana, Parker, Brady and 18 Great-Grandchildren. Ron's family would like to honor the memory of his sister Veldene (Tow) Lindell, who passed away 2 weeks after Ron.

Ron is preceded in death by his son Paul; his parents, Obed and Emma; his brothers, Cliff, Ordean, and Derrell; his daughter-in-law Brenda and son-in-law Roger.

To the wonderful care teams of St. Croix Hospice, Comfort Keepers, and The VA Home-Based Primary Care, our family is forever grateful for your loving care, kindness and concern for our Dad and our family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 at the American Legion, Post 255, 708 Front St. Brainerd, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather for the visitation from 1:00-3:00 pm with a short service taking place at 3 pm.

A private family burial will be held on Friday at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Ron to the American Legion Post 255 Brainerd MN or VFW Post 1647 Brainerd MN
