Ronald Peterson

December 24, 1950 — July 2, 2015

Ron "Cutter" Peterson, 64, of Brainerd, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services.

Ronald John was born December 24, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Warren J. and Edith R. (Hanson) Peterson. He was raised in South Minneapolis and in 1968 gradated from Roosevelt High School. Cutter attended Vocational School for barbering. In 1970, he married Jennifer Flathe and the couple moved to Fargo where they owned The Barber's before moving to Austin, TX in 1980 to avoid the winter climate. He opened a barbershop there and in 1985 married Robin Killingsworth. The couple returned North Dakota in 1987 and operated The Barber's, which later became City Looks. In 2000, they moved to Fergus Falls for a couple years before moving to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 2002 fulfilling a lifelong dream of having a shop in a vacation area. Cutter's shop was across from North Long Lake.

Cutter loved cutting hair and loved his clientele - many of whom become close friends. He enjoyed having folks congregate at his shop. He had a very dry sense of humor and loved to laugh. He collected toys and loved to build model cars. He also had an appreciation for Antique Cars.

He is survived by his wife, Robin; children, Julien (Shannan) Peterson, of Austin, TX and Ronald (Jean) Peterson, of Folsom, CA; grandchildren, Ziggy, Willabee, and Autumn; mother, Edith Peterson, of Minneapolis; sister, Kathleen (Jon) Johnson, of Hastings; nephew, Scott Rick, of Minneapolis; and puppies, Shiner and Kinsky. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren.
