On September 29th, 2024, heaven gained another angel. Ron Osborne passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Esentia Health in Brainerd, Minnesota after a short battle of cancer.
Ronald “Ron” Emery Osborne was born on May 10th, 1967, in Bozeman, Montana to Mary Ellen Swenson and Everett E. Osborne. He lived in Centralia, Washington and continued his childhood in Alexandria, Minnesota. Ron made the best out his childhood with his siblings by his side. One memory that his siblings embrace was learning how to fish with Ron, even if it meant not using regular fishing poles. The siblings often played Cowboys and Indians in the woods together. He served in the Minnesota National Guard at Fort Ripley from 1984 to 1990. Ron later moved into Oakridge Home in Brainerd, Minnesota and developed a deep connection with other people who lived there and the staff and considered them his extended family.
Ron often enjoyed spending his time talking to family, drinking strong coffee, taking care of stray cats, feeding the birds, and most importantly fishing. He was proud of his whole family and always was concerned with how they were doing and what they had been up to. Most people he met had called him “Ron”, but to his family he was “Ronnie”. He had so much respect and interest in everyone that he met.
Ronald was proceeded in death by his mother Mary Ellen Swenson.
Ronald is survived by his daughter Kayla Shamp, son Kyle (Jessica) Mertens, three grandchildren, father Everett E. Osborne, sister Charlotte (Lloyd) Williams, brother Everett R. (Dora) Osborne, sister Cherry Osborne, sister Danyelle (Gene) Bosl, brother Richard (Amanda) Fritz, sister Maxine (Luis) Moreno, sister Anna Fritz, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family sincerely thanks the staff at Oakridge Home and Essentia Health in Brainerd, Minnesota for taking care of Ron.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
