Ronald Nelson

Ronald L. Nelson 79, of Brainerd died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 18 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with visitation one-half hour prior to services.

Ronald was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He met and married his wife, Evelyn, while serving in the Air Force in California. He received his BA at the University of North Dakota. He raised his family in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and enjoyed weekends at his cabin on Gull Lake. He retired to Brainerd, spending winters in Daingerfield, Texas. Ronald was a past Potentate of the Osman Shrine. He enjoyed technical gadgets, photography, the out-of-doors and spending time with family and friends.

Ronald will be sadly missed by his wife, Evelyn; children, Kathy (Bruce) Becker and Rodney (Christine) Nelson; grandchildren, Joe (Maggie), Charles, Dana, Kelly and Abby; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edith; sister, Eleanor Martin; and brother, Reverend Norman Nelson.
