Ronald A. Dukowitz, Sr., 68, of Staples, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Services are planned for Wednesday, August 20 at 11 AM at the Church of Christ in Staples with Reverend Barry Klein officiating. The visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to the service at the church. Family private interment at a later date.
Ronald was born to Ted and Violet (Killian) Dukowitz, on March 17, 1940, at the family farm near Motley. He grew up on the farm and attended school through the tenth grade. In 1958 he entered the US Army and served for three years. He married Beverly Christensen on December 27, 1958. After leaving the service he took a job with Hoffman Engineering in Anoka where he worked until his retirement in 2000. He and Bev the built a new house just south of Staples. Ron was a 20 year member of the Becker Fire Department and loved hunting and fishing.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Violet; son, Ron Jr.; brothers, Bernard and Lawrence; sister, LaVerne; and nephews, Vernon and Richy. He is survived by his wife, Bev; daughters, Rinda (Ronald) Gustafson of Monticello, Ramona (Dennis) Tranna of Staples, and Ranae Rinerson of Staples; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings; Lillian (Melvin) Smith of Motley, Richard (Marlene) Dukowitz of Staples, Donna (Bill) Smith of Motley, Eleanore (Lee) Auel of Pillager, Michael Dukowitz of Princeton, Annette (Merle) Vensland of Motley, Kenneth (Mary) Dukowitz of Motley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
