Roland Meyer

Roland "Chuck" Meyer, 82, of Pequot Lakes, MN, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at Essentia -St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. A Memorial service for Chuck will be 10:00AM, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, MN with Pastor Donna Olsen officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Chuck was born October 23, 1932 in Elysian, MN to Gustaf and Elizabeth (Neuendorf) Meyer. He grew up in Elysian and attended school in Waterville. Chuck served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Korea. Chuck was united in marriage to Barbara Mathers in November of 1959 in Sioux Falls, SD. After their marriage, they moved to Pipestone and in 1968 they moved to Pequot Lakes. Chuck ran the Oasis restaurant in Pequot Lakes, owned The Garden Market and Roland's Clothing Store. He loved grocery shopping, cooking, his baking experiments, fishing, hunting, woodworking, telling jokes and stories and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. One of Chuck's favorite sayings to his great granddaughter was, "Yoboseyo" (you be see ya) meaning, "see you later". Chuck was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Pequot American Legion.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Leigh Ann (Jeff) Roggenkamp of Pequot Lakes, MN, Kevin Meyer of Belgrade, MT, Darrin (Sue) Meyer of Pequot Lakes, MN, Lynette (Michael) Nolan of Nisswa, MN; six grandchildren, Mandie, Jordan, Justin, Taylor, Michael, Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Aubrie and Addy. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Martha "Mickey" Shulti, Henrietta Meyer, George Meyer, Charlotte Lysdale and Raymond Meyer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
