Roger Walton

Roger L. Walton, 73, of Brainerd, passed away on July 31, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Society - Bethany campus. Roger was born May 18, 1943, to Donald and Betty Walton in Creston, Iowa. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He relocated to Brainerd in 1969, where he worked for over 30 years in the magazine distribution business.

Roger was active in Brainerd youth hockey and baseball in the 70's and was a co-founder of Brainerd's BMX track in 1983. He was also a past Chairman of the Camp Confidence Celebrity Golf Tournament and a very active member of the Brainerd Moose Lodge.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Harold and Maxine Greenwalt; his brother, Terry; and brothers-in-law, John (Caren) and Bill (Mary Kaye) Greenwalt.
Roger is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Gary (Verena); daughter, Cheri (Jason) Hoheisel; grandchildren, Nate and Claire Walton, Addie Hoheisel; and Goddaughter, Jennifer Klabo.

A service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 5, at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Memorials preferred.
