Roger Schneider

Roger Schneider, 73, of Staples, MN died Friday, November 2, 2018 at Lakewood Health Systems Care Center in Staples. A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held from 2-5PM, Saturday, November 17th at the Bear’s Den in Leader, MN.

Roger was born February 22, 1945 in Mandan, ND to Leo and Mary (Emineth) Schneider. He grew up north of Mandan, and at the age of 16 Roger moved with his family to the Leader, MN area where he attended Staples High School. Roger married Kim Tonsager February 9, 1993 in Honolulu, HI. He spent a year in the Railroad based out of Staples and started with heavy equipment as a section crewmember, eventually becoming a section chief before retiring in the late 1990’s. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting and deer hunting for 40 years with his buddy, Joe Rousslang and traveling.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kim of Staples; son, Jim (Lilia) of Simie Valley, CA; grandson, James; and brother, Dennis Schneider of Motley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Leo Schneider; sister, Linda Schneider; and daughter, Stacy Schneider. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
