Roger McGinley, 66, of Bertha, MN died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his home. A Memorial service for Roger will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, October 27th at Thomastown Covenant Church in Staples, MN with Pastor Nathan Hillman officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Roger was born November 2, 1951 to Leonard and Gladys (Muntean) McGinley in Byron, MN. Roger married Cheryl Gossman on June 23, 1995 in Sargeant, MN. They made their home in Sargeant, Harmony and most recently, Bertha, MN. Roger worked in the construction and mechanic fields, farmed and was a stay at home dad.Roger enjoyed tinkering, gardening, mowing the lawn, being outside, talking on the phone and drinking Pepsi; but most important to him was his family.
Roger is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Bertha, MN; children, Shelly (Mark) Pritzl and children, Alexis and Mariah of Lake City, MN, Marty (Jami) McGinley and children, Brady, Logan, Graham of Overland Park, KS, Tracy (Marcus) Mitchell and children, Richard, Kevin, Marcus, Mataya of Red Wing, MN, Josette (Levi) Van Pelt and children, Tad, Marcus, Jeanette, and Lincoln of Arizona, Tyler (Lizzie) McGinley and children, Amelia, Abigail, Adelyn of Verndale, MN, Tallen McGinley and child, Ariana of North Dakota, Tara (Justin Scheffler) McGinley and child, Kaitlyn Scheffler of Staples, MN; one great grandchild, Braxton; sisters, Darlene, Donna; brothers, Ronnie and Leonard; many ex-Amish family, especially Inga and Mason Laumb; numerous special nieces and nephews, especially Echo (Ron) Mcallister and Ayden, Autumn and Harvey. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debbie; and brother Richard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
