Roger "Butch" Laurel Adair, 74, of Brainerd, MN died Saturday, July 21st at Essentia Health-St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd, MN. Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Following a lunch in the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room, Interment will take place at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.
Roger was born in Brainerd, Minnesota, February 17, 1938, to Len & Wilda Adair.
Roger graduated from Brainerd High school in 1956. He was a star athlete, participating in football, basketball, baseball & track. He was a member of the State Championship High school Basketball team of 1954. He graduated from Concordia Moorhead where he also participated in athletics. He graduated with a degree in Education. Roger married his high school sweetheart Diane Marie Hickerson September 5, 1964 in Brainerd, Minnesota. They had two sons Michael and Thomas Adair.
Roger was a school teacher and coach when the family lived in Lindstrom, MN. They moved to Crosslake in 1979 where Roger was a land/real estate developer for many years and later retired. Roger enjoyed all sporting events, Vikings, Twins, Gophers & Nascar. Roger also loved life on the lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & boating. He kept close relationships with his high school & college friends throughout his life.
Roger is survived by his son, Michael of Minneapolis, MN, his son Thomas, wife Stacy and their son Cooper of Hudson, WI. He is preceded in death by his wife Diane, his parents & brother, Darrel Adair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
