“Bob” Masters, 70, fought a courageous battle against cancer but was Called to Heaven Saturday, June 15, 2019, at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born in San Francisco, California, on January 9, 1949, to Bert and Judy Masters. While he was a toddler, his family moved home to Brainerd. He met his sweetheart, Bunny, in high school, and the couple later married on January 6, 1968.
Bob was known for his physical strength and stature, having spent 13 years slinging railroad ties. He was also an entrepreneur, working in transportation and oversize loads. Those who knew Bob well described him as loving, humorous, and a man of strong faith; he made many wooden crosses to share with others. He was loyal, steadfast and true. He was passionate about his family, and loved being a grandfather surrounded by grandchildren and great grand-babies. He enjoyed showing off his Canary Yellow 1967 Corvette, and riding his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed a good raspberry-filled Bismark. Bob’s strong and quiet presence, smiles, and the ever-present twinkle in his eye will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Bunny; children, Tanya & Nat, and Rob & Jamie; grandchildren Acacia, Kiah & Cody, Steve & Tori, and Jadeah; foster children, Rachael and Tyler; great grandchildren Everleigh, Maverick, and Aryanna; aunt, Gladys; Brothers-By-Choice, Bob Lewis, Steve, Mike, Jeff, Tom, Mark, and Dennis; his fellow members of the Patriot Guard and ‘The Caribou Crew,’ and many friends, family, and neighbors.
The Celebration for Life for Bob will be held at Pavilion #2 at Lum Park on Tuesday, June 25th from 4-8 pm. Friends and family welcome.
