Robert Oscar Westlund, Junior

July 19, 1943 - February 25, 2025

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 7, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Log Church in Crosslake (37218 County Rd 16, Crosslake). Refreshments will be served following the service. Memorials are preferred to the Robert Westlund Jr. family or to the Log Church Benevolence Fund. 

Preceded in death by Parents Robert and Alice (Tolonen) Westlund, and devoted wife of 58 years Geraldine (Szmiot) Westlund.

Bob was an avid fisherman. Most summer mornings would find him in his boat rod in hand. He was renowned for knowing the best spots to find walleye. He was an outdoorsman, and hunter who found peace in the beauty of God's creation. As a founding member of the Crosslake Evangelistic Free Church (The Log Church) he remained dedicated to the church until the end of his life. Serving as an usher and participating Bible study.

Bob’s early morning coffee, donuts, snappy returns and lively conversation will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children: Robin (David) Motley, Robert (Margaret) Westlund, III, Richard (Lori) Westlund, Rebecca (Thomas) Hollister, Patricia (Eric) Gates.

Grandchildren: Rachel (Alex) Tushie-Lessard, Matthew (Bethany Joy) Motley, and Bethany Grace (Nathan) Anderson, Rochelle Westlund, Robert Westlund, IV, Kelly (Jeff) Isenhower, and Tessa Westlund, Maleah (Andrew) Hendrickson, Gage (Anna) Westlund and Garrett Westlund, Benjamin Hollister and Alysse Hollister

Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Elliot, Evan, Martha, Peter, Silas, Lauren, Robert V, Blair, Maeve, Hazel, Henry, Harper, Hudson, Molly and Shepard.

Great-great Grandson: Cal.

And Siblings: Diane (Rick) Bartosik, Jeanne (Rick) Austin, Dan Westlund, and Jim (Paula) Westlund.

In laws: Patricia (John) Kohnen, Gloria Exner, Dan (Sandee) Szmiot and Jim( Linda) Szmiot.

Family of the Heart, daughter; Genie Stelter (Steve), granddaughters; Erin (Tim), Kayla (Nick), and Mariah (Allen) with great grandchildren; Mallory, Maverick, Avery, Jace, Peyton, and Sadie.

Many, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and life long friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
