Robert Earl “Bob” Wallin passed away March 23, 2021. He was born in Pelican Township August 14, 1942 to Richard and Lucille (Potter) Wallin. He lived his whole life in the Nisswa and Pequot Lakes area.
Bob attended Nisswa Elementary school to sixth grade and graduated from Pequot Lakes High School. He excelled in sports and was on the basketball, football and baseball teams.
Not many people work their entire career with the same employer, but Bob did. He was a valued employee at the Nisswa Marina. Bob worked at all three locations of this long-time Nisswa business and his specialty was fixing older motors. He and the rest of the Marina crew could be found at the Pickle most Friday nights solving all the problems of the world!
Bob earned the title of family handyman by being able to fix just about anything with an engine. When no one else could fix it, it was brought to Uncle Bob!
Bob liked staying home but looked forward to basketball season when he and Ielene, his partner of 50 years, were regular attendees at Pequot Lakes Patriot’s home games. They supported both the girls’ and boys’ teams. One of Bob’s prized possessions was his Patriots cap which he proudly wore everywhere he went.
Bob is survived by his partner, Ielene Mathison; sister, Betty Simenstad; daughter, Pam Wallin; the John and Cindy (Mathison) Terwilliger family and Mark and Susan (Mathison) Young family; and many other relatives.
Services will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 3, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nisswa.
