Robert Quam

Robert Owen Quam, 84, of Lakeshore died on Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services for Robert will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter at 11:00AM. A Luncheon will follow services at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room in Baxter. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00AM on the day of services. Interment will follow luncheon at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.

Bob Quam was born on July 13, 1929 in Aberdeen, SD to Alvin and Elvera Mittelsteadt. He was adopted by Louis Quam and moved to Brainerd where he graduated in 1952. Bob served in the US Army from 1946-1948 in Italy. He married Barb Jacobson in 1952. Barb died in 1973 and Bob married Jo (Anderson) Quam in 1974. Bob owned several Phillips 66 Stations, sold real estate, and served as the local Deputy Registrar until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Nisswa American Legion and a volunteer Brainerd Fireman for many years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jo; son, Jeff (Linda) Quam of Tuscon, AZ; daughters, Sue (Jim) Hammes of Plymouth, and Traci (Donny) Vosen of Lakeshore; stepson, Mark Heishman of Brainerd; stepdaughters, Cindy Quam of Brainerd and Debbie (Doug) Wonders of Motley; seventeen grandchildren; and thirty-five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; stepfather; and brother, Alvin Mittelsteadt Jr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
