Robert E. Olive, age 88, formerly of Kimberly, died on October 31, 2014 in Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minnesota, following a brief illness.
Bob was born on April 18, 1926 in Iron Mountain, MI, to the late Edward and Aldora (DuFrane) Olive.
Bob was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Janice Weyenberg on April 19, 1947 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kimberly, at the time of her death they had been married 63 years.
Bob was a WWII veteran and a proud member of the W.M. Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion.
Bob worked 38 years for General Motors in the AC/Delco Division. His career took him to Minneapolis and the Chicago area. Bob and Jan retired to Darboy, after a few years they sold their home and went full-time in a RV. They spent the next 6 years, which they both often remarked were the best years of their lives, roaming the country visiting relatives, friends and seeing the sites. They lived in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Brainerd, Minnesota to be near their daughter.
Bob and Jan are now back together and that brings a lot of comfort to their family and friends.
Bob will be missed by his daughters; Pat Kvale (Greg) of Brainerd, MN; Lynne Hubert of Bozeman, MT. Three grandchildren: Laurel Hubert, Luise Hubert and Peter Kvale.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edwina Schumann, Lorraine Doering and Celeste Lambie.
Funeral arrangements are pending for the summer in Kimberly with interment in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church Cemetery.
