Robert Loven

Robert R. Loven, age 70, of Pequot Lakes, died Saturday morning, September 18, 2004, at his home after a short illness of cancer, following several months of hospice care. Robert was born July 24, 1934 in Minneapolis, to Vernon C. and Rose (Youngberg) Loven. Bob married Lydia Seward June 22, 1957, at Oak Knoll Lutheran Church in Minnetonka. As a veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt. Upon leaving the military he attended the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the University of Minnesota. Robert was Art Director at Colwell Press in Minneapolis. Thirty-four years ago, he moved to the Pequot Lakes Area and made pottery, woodcuts, and paintings in many different mediums. He also completed many commercial art projects for area businesses. Bob worked at Good Neighbors Home Care part-time for a few years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lydia (Seward) Loven; his sons, Michael (Mary) Loven and Daniel (Lynette) Loven, both living in Pequot Lakes, and Patrick (Laura) Loven, living in Kalispell, MT; grandson Eli Loven, from Ideal; granddaughters, Katherine (Michael) DeCrans, from Phoenix, AZ, Celia (Chad) Baker, of Minneapolis, and Faith Loven, from Kalispell, MT; two step-grandsons, Ryan and Randy Johnson, from Kalispell, MT; and everyday companions, Maggie and Sybil. His parents, Vernon and Rose Loven; and a brother, Donald C. Loven, preceded Bob in death.

Private family services will be held, with interment at Minnesota State Veteran?s Cemetery in Camp Ripley. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, October 2, 1-4 p.m., at Michael and Mary Loven?s home, 6834 17th Avenue Southwest, Pequot Lakes. Correspondence may be sent to Lydia M.
