Robert "Bob" Kohl, 70, of Brainerd, peacefully left earth Thursday, May 15 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby after a brave battle with cancer. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 22 at Riverside Union Church with Pastor Harvey Peterson officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Interment will take place at River Side Cemetery.
Born January 24, 1944, Bob was the son of Clarence and Adelaide (Mertens) Kohl. Bob was raised and lived in the Brainerd area where he owned and operated Kohl's Auto Salvage. Bob looked forward to spending the winter months in the warm states of Florida and Oklahoma. Family was important to Bob and he enjoyed spending time with them camping on Happy Hill. He also liked to fish, visit with his customers and win a game of cards - he was a very competitive player.
He will be missed by his children, Joylene Kohl, Kelly (Paula) Kohl, Misty (Billy High) Peterson, Mary (Derek Wang) Fredrickson, Amanda (Travis) Malloy, Mindy (Ryan) Youngquist, and Melissa (Levi) Bock; grandchildren, Jade, Raini, Sky, Brittany, Bailey, Kayden, Wythe, Carson, Mason, Weston, Braxton, Alexis, Easton, Levi, and Arence; great-granddaughter, Braelynn; and siblings, Juanita (Dale) Malloy and Priscilla (Bob) Madsen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
