Visitation will be at the Randall Funeral Home in Randall on Sunday, April 2, 2005 from 4 - 8 pm. Services will be Monday, April 3, 2006, 11:00 am at Saron Lutheran Church Big Lake, Minnesota, with burial following in the Big Lake Cemetery.
Robert Duane Jones was born on March 11, 1935, in Howard Lake, MN, the son of William and Gertrude (Heaton) Jones. He was called from this life early Thursday morning at his home in Randall, attaining the age of 71 years and 19 days.

Bob grew up and attended school in the Howard Lake area. After his schooling he had several different jobs until going to work as a maintenance man for Colonial Warehouse in Minneapolis. In the 33 years he worked for Colonial he saw many changes in the commodities stored there. Leaving there he opened his own small engine repair and sales shop in Big Lake. After moving to Randall in 2000 he continued to do small engine repairs.

On March 9, 1957, he was united in marriage to Florence Olson. To this union 5 children were born. Bob and Florence were able to celebrate 49 years of marriage together. They were members of Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake and after moving to Randall they became members of Bethany Lutheran Church of Cushing. While in Big Lake he was also a member of the Lions Club. Bob enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and fishing, he loved playing cards but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude; a son, Jeffrey; and a brother, Dale. Bob is mourned in passing by his wife, Florence; children, Duane (Rita) Jones of Big Lake, Becky (Joe) Stein of Big Lake, Gloria Hanson of Sugar Camp, WI, and Mike Jones of Big Lake; 4 grandchildren, Dusty and Kyle Jones and Kelly and Alex Stein; sisters, Marion Weller of St. Paul, Pat Schroedl of Minneapolis, and Phyllis Birkholz of Hutchinson.
