Robert “Bob” Melvin Hagel, Sr., 75, Brainerd, died on Friday, April 17th at home surrounded by his loving family. No services are planned at this time, per Bob’s request.
Bob was born on February 4, 1945 at Crosby, MN, to Melvin and Lillian (Palmer) Hagel. Bob met his wife, Melodee Ann Roff and they were married on December 15, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Together they had three children: Robert M. Hagel, Jr., Michael Hagel (Jennifer) and Kristina Tiede (Mark). Bob enjoyed many things in life, deer hunting with his sons, fishing trips all over the Brainerd Lakes Area, Lake Mille Lacs, Lake of the Woods, as well as around Parkers Prairie. He loved duck hunting with Buster and his family. He loved to garden, cooking and grilling, and watching his John Wayne movies. His greatest love was his wife, Melodee, his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-one years: Melodee; sons: Robert M. Hagel Jr. and Michael Hagel (Jennifer); daughter: Kristina Tiede (Mark); grandchildren: Alyssa (Travis), Caitlin, Cody, Megan, Morgan, Max, Emily, Laura, and Maddie; great-grandchildren: Rhegan, Cooper, Rebecca, Parker, Lucy and Henry Robert, who is due in July of 2020. Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Lillian (Palmer) Hagel and brother: Ray Hagel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel of Baxter. www.brenny.com
