Robert Brown

Robert D. Brown, 89, of Brainerd died on Monday, December 27, 2010 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Services for Robert will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter with visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Private Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Robert was born on October 5, 1921 in Fargo, North Dakota to Lyman and Eva (Bote) Brown. He attended Moorhead State College where he received his Bachelor Degree. He later received a Masters Degree from Bemidji State College. Robert served in the army during WWII, stationed for a time in India. In 1961, he married Estelle Ranstedt in Brainerd. Robert taught school in Pillager and Brainerd before retiring in 1984. He continued his involvement with Brainerd High School Activities after retiring. He was the gambling manager at the Elks Club, a 50 year member of the American Legion, a 35 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert enjoyed crossword puzzles, memorizing Minnesota counties, county seats, Supreme Court judges, and their terms. Robert liked working on the computer, photography, and feeding the birds at his home.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife; Estelle of 49 years, children; Lee (Cindy) Schiller, Konnie Schiller, and David (Connie) Schiller; grandchildren, Jamie, Kelly, and Eric; great- grandchildren; Ethan and Levi and two nieces.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
