Robert Chase

Robert A. Chase, age 67, of Baxter, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon while on a business trip in Denver, CO. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at Park Methodist Church in Brainerd. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter and for one hour prior to services at the Church on Wednesday.
Robert was born on January 1, 1940, in Duluth, MN, the son of Walter and Alice (Bertulla) Chase. He grew up in Duluth and graduated from Duluth Central High in 1958. Continuing his education he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. On July 2, 1960 he was united in marriage to Sandra Lewis in Duluth. The couple lived in Washington D.C. where he worked for the FDIC. In 1964 they moved to Mankato, MN, where he began his 30 year career with State Farm Insurance as an insurance adjuster. They moved to Brainerd in 1985. In 1999, he became an independent National Catastrophe insurance adjuster, traveling throughout the United States. Robert was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. He enjoyed sports, playing bridge, working, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice; son, Robert Ronald; brother, Dennis, and sister, Patricia. Robert is mourned in passing by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra; children, Sheri (Brian) Axtell of Pearland, TX, Stacey (Matt) Van Der Meulen of Chester, NY, Suzanne (Mark) Krueger of Lakeville, MN, and Ronald Chase of Baxter; grandchildren, Vanessa, Briana, and Derrick Axtell, Austin Van Der Meulen, Danielle Krueger, and Joseph and Christopher Chase; brothers Rodger Chase of Grand Rapids, MN, Jim Chase of Sanford, FL, Greg Chase of Duluth, MN, and sister Elizabeth (Craig) Birdseye of Duluth, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Park United Methodist Church of Brainerd, or the charity of your choice.

Services are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
