Robert Stanley Brown, 86, of Baxter, previously of Brainerd, Coon Rapids, and Minneapolis, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living. Visitation Friday evening from 4:30 - 7:30 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Rosary at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 29 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley at 11:00

Robert was born December 29, 1925, in Richfield, MN, the son of Frank William, Sr. and Maude Helen (Kreger) Brown. A member of the Brainerd High School Class of 1944, Robert enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and served during WWII. In 1949, he was united in marriage to Donna Marie Vierzba. Robert worked for more than 36 years at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired as the North District Construction Manager in 1983. He was active in many organizations: Lions, Toastmasters, American Legion, Telephone Pioneers, and Retiree Guardian. He also was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed sports - especially hunting, fishing, and golf.
He will be missed by his wife, Donna; his daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Krautkremer, of Plymouth, Alison (Wayne) Scheelk, of Brooklyn Park, Cynthia (Thomas) LeDell, of Maple Grove, Laura Lee, of Apple Valley, Susan (Dean) Farmer, of Foreston, Sandra (Craig) Kienholz, of Brainerd, and Brenda (Gregg Staley) Mudge, of Grand Rapids; siblings, Dorothy Bard, of Sayville, NY and Daniel Brown, of Arden Hills, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lawrence; brother, Frank Brown, Jr.; and sister, Eva Newman.
