Robert N. Berglund, age 72, of Crosslake, Minnesota died Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at St. Joseph?s Medical Center. Services will be Saturday, September 22, 2001 at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church in Crosslake at 10 AM. With Reverend Jeff Jensen officiating. Visitation will be from 5 ? 7 PM on Friday, September 21 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
Robert N. Berglund was born on January 1, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota son of Oscar & Margaret Berglund. Graduated from high school in St. Paul. Served in the United States Army from November 1950 till 1952 and then in the reserves until 1956. United in marriage to Bernadine Frid. Robert was in construction his entire life. Was the owner of Berglund and Shortridge Construction in St. Paul for several years. Built Beaver Lake Estates in North St. Paul. He moved to Crosslake in 1981 where he owned and operated Ye Old Wharf in Crosslake, and was in construction in the Crosslake area. He enjoyed construction work, hunting, fishing and bowling. Was a member of the Crosslake American Legion and a past member of the Crosslake Lions.
Robert is survived by his children Susan Berglund of St. Paul, Sharon (Dan) Berglund Olson of Florida, Robert Berglund of West St. Paul, Wm. (Bill) (Sue) of Crosslake, Steven Berglund of Crosslake; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters Ann and Dorthy; 3 brothers Edward, John and Raymond. His parents and his sister Mary preceded him in death.
