Robert Eugene Ackerman, age 62, of Crosslake, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 27 at Christ Community Church in Nisswa with Rev. James Rogers officiating. Friends may call starting at 1:00 Saturday at the Church. Interment will be at a later date.
Robert was born on November 9, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Frank and Peggy (Emerick) Ackerman. Bob was a self-made man, leaving high school before graduation, he built a successful career in printing. He retired early from Complete Graphics to begin a new life in Crosslake, MN, with Bobbie, the woman he loved. He worked at the Ace Hardware store in Crosslake where he demonstrated his culinary and salesmanship skills as BBQ Bob. Most recently he worked at the Nisswa Ace Hardware store. As an avid fisherman and jokester, he always had a fish tale and a joke to share. He indulged his love of animals by spoiling the pets of family and friends with treats. With a generous and loving spirit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, frank Ackerman. He is mourned in passing by his son, Robert Ackerman of Buffalo, MN and daughter, Mary Beth Ackerman of Payton, CO; and very special friend, Bobbie Reindl of Crosslake.
Bob, we will miss you!
