Rita Willert

Rita A. Willert, 87, of Brainerd, MN died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Essentia Health/St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN with visitation beginning one hour prior to services at the church.

Rita was born on January 20, 1930 in Royalton, MN to Joseph and Anna (Maciej) Hubner. Rita married Daniel Willert in 1956. She loved being a part of the RSVP knitting blankets and being a volunteer for the nursing homes and the American Legion. Rita was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served a term as president.

Rita is survived by her children, Kimberly (Ian) Thomsen of Golden, CO, Randy (Kimberly) Willert of North Branch, MN, and Mark Willert of Brainerd, MN; grandchildren, Krista (Scott) Ferndelli, Deanne Thomsen, Jeffrey (May) Thomsen, and Thomas Willert; great-grandchildren, August Ferndelli and Cali Ferndelli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents; four brothers, and six sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
