Rick Hansen

Rick D. Hansen age 45, of rural Staples, died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at his home. Memorial Services will be held Sunday afternoon, May 2, 2004 at 2:00pm in the Verndale Alliance Church with Pastor Daryl Jacobson officiating. Rick Donald Hansen was born on June 13, 1958 to Donald and Beverly (Ricketts) Hansen in Bertha, MN. He attended school in town with the Staples High School Class of 1976. Rick was recently married to Vicki Ward on March 27, 2004. He was married to Kim Koppes in 1980 and together they had a daughter, Ashley of Staples. Rick worked for several auto dealerships throughout his career in sales and was currently employed by Don Johnson Motors of Rice Lake, WI. Rick loved hunting, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, and anything to do with the outdoors. He rode security for the WE FEST over the past nine summers. One of his greatest achievements was the forming of the Todd County Sheriff?s Mounted Posse where he was the very first Captain and held that office for two years. Rick has left behind many, many friends. Rick is survived by his wife, Vicki of rural Browerville, daughter Ashley, 3 step-daughters, Holly, Carrie, Andrea, his parents; Don of Philbrook and Bev of Staples, 2 brothers; Wayne of Princeton and Dan of Browerville, and 1 sister, Nancy Rudie of Staples. Memorials are preferred. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home of Staples.
