Rick Allen Bean

January 31, 1964 – April 12, 2025

Rick Allen Bean, 61, of Baxter, Minnesota, passed away on April 12, 2025. Born on January 31, 1964, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, he was the beloved son of Wayne Bean and the late Carol Maass.

Rick is survived by his wife, Diana Bean; his father, Wayne Bean; his daughter, Alicia Berntson (Nate); his son, Mike Bean (Charolette); his grandchildren, Bradlee Bean, Emilee Bean, and Freya Berntson; and his sisters, Tammy Hendricks (Russ), Tracy Schulz (Erich), Lori Wood (Forest), and Julie Bussell. He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Maass, and his son, Christopher Bean.

Rick retired from a successful career in sales at Ocelco, Inc., but his true passions were found in the outdoors and in creativity. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a Harley rider, a talented drummer and guitarist, a skilled woodworker, and a dedicated gardener. Known to many as “Mr. Fix-It,” Rick could repair just about anything—and often did, happily helping family, friends, and neighbors.

More than his talents, Rick will be remembered for the love he poured into his roles as a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness was constant, his willingness to help others unmatched, and his laugh—one-of-a-kind and totally unforgettable—could light up a room and leave you smiling for hours.

All are welcome to share stories and memories of Rick at Poncho and Lefty’s on Monday, April 21st, at 5:00 p.m. A formal celebration of life will follow later this summer or fall.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to carry Rick’s spirit forward: be kind, stay curious, laugh loud, and lend a hand when you can.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
