Richard "Dick" Winkelman, age 90, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society Woodland in Brainerd. He was born to Howard and Frances Winkelman on August 13, 1922, in Marian, North Dakota. Dick served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a blacksmith and worked for the city of Pequot Lakes as a maintenance worker for 20 years. He was a member of the Jenkins VFW, Pequot Lakes Legion and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Junice; children: Marilyn Long (Larry) of Lake Helen, FL, Robert Winkelman (Raelene) of Pequot Lakes, Janet Zacharias (Gary) of Wadena; brother, Paul Winkelman (Marlys) of Venice, FL; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Grace Bjornson.
Services will be 11 AM on Friday, December 28, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes, with Pastor Frank Milo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pequot Lakes City Cemetery.
