Richard Willoughby

Richard "Dick" Willoughby, 79, of Cushing, MN died Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. A Memorial Service for Dick will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, MN with Father Joe Korf officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Scandia Valley Cemetery in Cushing. Military Honors provided by Wadena VFW Post 3922.

Dick was born December 3, 1935 to William and Emily (DeBates) Willoughby in Luverne, MN. He was raised in Hardwick and graduated from Luverne High School in 1953. He served in the US Navy for 2 years. Dick was united in marriage to Veronica "Vonnie" Biever on June 18, 1960 in Woodstock, MN. Dick owned a metal fabricating business and retired in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading western books, watching John Wayne movies, playing cards, and keeping busy going to his grandkids' many events.

Dick is survived by his wife, Vonnie; five children, Mary (Jerry) Dengerud,
Julie (Rock) Stone, Dan Willoughby, Robyn (Mark) Lampert, and Dave Willoughby;
seven grandkids, Samantha, Capri, Cheyenne, Kyle, Luke, Kayla and Leah. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emily. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
