Richard Weiss

Richard Weiss, age 64, of Backus, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. He was born to Herman and Clara Weiss on May 25, 1951, in Pine River. Richard graduated from Pine River High School and served for 2 years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Holland. He worked at Weiss Shoe Repair in Pine River for many years. He was a member of numerous military organizations in Minnesota and Arizona.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Clara; son, Christopher Lodge; daughter, Cassandra Lodge; brother, Steve; sisters: Lynda Weiss, Sandi Shoen, Marie Weiss, Joann Lendway; grandchildren, Christian and Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Services will be 11 AM on Friday, January 8, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Camp Ripley.
