Richard G. Stoehr, Sr., 86, of Pine River, formerly of Breezy Point, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village - Whispering Pines, in Pine River. Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment at Pelican Woods Cemetery in Breezy Point.
Richard was born April 15, 1929, in St. Paul, MN, the son of George A. and Eva Marie (LaPorte) Stoehr. After graduating high school in St. Paul, Richard began working in the family business as a plumber. He retired in 1985 and moved to Breezy Point until he entered the nursing home in 2013. He served in the US Army and was a proud member of the Pequot Lakes American Legion. He also belonged to the Plumber's Union, Local 34 and the Pequot Lakes Conservation Club. Richard liked to be busy - always working and enjoying his downtime fishing, hunting, and playing cards and shaking dice. Richard was a sports fan - especially baseball and football. Above all, he loved his family and their Sunday Dinners.
Richard will be missed by his children, Richard Stoehr, of Las Vegas, NV, Roxanne (Robert) Guerra, of Key Largo, FL, Suzanne (Arlin) Hitzemann, of Blaine, LeeAnne Olstad (David), of Minto, ND, Michelle Stoehr (Raymond), of Breezy Point, and Sean Stoehr, of Breezy Pioint; siblings, Sharon, George, Patsy and Lorraine; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve (Mickey); his parents; and his daughter, JoAnne.
