Richard ?Schultzie? Schultz, 78, Crosslake, died Saturday at his home. Services will be Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at 1 PM at the Crosslake Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to services. Military honors will be provided by the Crosslake American Legion Post #500. Burial will be at the Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. Arrangements entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
Richard Schultz was born on February 12, 1925 in Mpls, son of Rudolph and Blanche (Bernie) Schultz. He lived in Bloomington and grew up on the family vegetable farm. He entered the US Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Irene Dietz on September 14, 1943 in Bloomington. Following his honorable discharge he was an independent trucker most of his working life. He was a member of the Crosslake American Legion and the Bloomington VFW. Memorials preferred.
Survived by wife, Irene; 2 daughters, Sandra (David) Benolkin of Bloomington, Cathy (Tom) Alves of Lakeville; 3 sons, Richard (Mary) Schultz Jr. of Prior Lake, Thomas (Nita) Schultz of Plymouth, Terry (Becky) Schultz of Burnsville; 1 sister, Charlotte (Bernie) Enright of Bloomington; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded by parents and grandson David.
