Richard Pankratz

Richard R. Pankratz, age 83, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Hospital, on Thursday, April 12. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 17, at 11:00 AM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church, with a Rosary at 10:30. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill cemetery.

Richard was born on April 3, 1929, in Staples, MN, to Rueben and Helen (Bienusa) Pankratz. After High School, he served in the US Air Force. In 1956, he married Laura Scott. Richard retired from the Railroad in 1991.

Richard is survived by his wife, Laura; children, Jan Pankratz of Plymouth, Jim (Wanda) of Tucson, AZ, and John of Plymouth; grandchildren, Matthew, and Christopher; and sister, Arlene Fraser of St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence and James; and grandson, Jeffrey.
