Richard K. "Dick" Odland, age 69 of Fifty Lakes, MN, formerly of Prior Lake, MN died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his home in Fifty Lakes. Richard K. Odland was born April 4, 1933 in Minneapolis to Wendell and Grace (Kyes) Odland. He attended Washburn High School. Dick was united in marriage to Donna LaDue (Clifford) on October 10, 1992 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He owned and operated American Lighting Co. in Minneapolis from 1966 until his retirement in 1993. They made their home in Fifty Lakes in 1995. He served in the United States Navy Reserves from 1950 to 1952. He was a longtime member of Richfield American Legion. He enjoyed car collecting and restoration; along with woodworking. He enjoyed an active and enjoyable life until a recent illness. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and generosity.
Dick is survived by his wife Donna Two daughters: Linda Clancy of Tucson, AZ Christine Nelson of Savage, MN; Two sons: William Odland of Minneapolis, MN Martin Odland and wife Annette of Hayward, WI; Two step-sons: Sean Clifford and wife Rhonda of Augusta, G, Kyle Clifford and wife Juli of Arlington, VA One step-granddaughter: Megan Clifford. Dick is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 1:00 P.M., at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, with Rev. John Twiton officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 12:00 until the time of service. Burial at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Crosslake.
