Richard Newton

Richard L. Newton, 68, of Baxter died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at his home. Services for Richard will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Baptist Church 229 28th Street SE Brainerd with Pastor Goodew officiating. Visitation will be a half hour prior to services.

Richard was born on June 18, 1942 to LeRoy and June (Harwood) Newton in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He married Patricia (Basilici) on October 12, 1985 in Esko, Minnesota. Richard was Vice President of RAM Mutual Insurance Company and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.

Richard will be sadly missed by his wife, Patricia; children, Daniel Newton of California, Patty Newton of Arizona, John (Kristine) Basilici of Cloquet, and Joseph (Rochelle) Basilici of Minneapolis; two sisters, Beth and Peggy Newton both of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lee Anderson. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the local area food shelf. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
