Richard Medley

Richard E. Medley, 81 of Browerville died on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Lakewood Health System in Staples, MN. A Memorial Gathering will be held for Richard from 12-2:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.

Richard was born on August 6, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to George and Hazel (McGinty) Medley. He served in the Army from 1949-1952, during the Korea era. Richard married Jean Whitley on July 7, 1956 in Plymouth, MN. He worked for the City of Hopkins from 1962-1978 in the water and sewer department and as a home repairperson for many years. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, auto racing and bowling. He was a member of the Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years, until he was injured while at a fire, and was a member and past Commander of the Hopkins American Legion.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Gloria Medley of Farmington, MN, Mark (Joyce) Medley of Randall, MN, Kyle Medley of Hastings, MN; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, George. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
