Richard J. Lehmann, 74, passed away on April 26 due to
complications from a fall and his cancer which he battled for a year. He was born in Albert Lea, MN, to Ralph and Lucille (Langer) Lehmann. He graduated from Albert Lea and went on to vocational school, training in tool and die. He went on to have jobs in sales and in engineering.
Richard married Karen Udstuen Hobert on February 2, 1980.
They started their own business (Lehmann Sales, Inc.) in 1987 and worked side-by-side all these years selling woodworking machinery.
Richard was a very talented guy - he could fix anything and make anything, and did it to perfection. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, fishing, and working with his hands. He also got a lot of satisfaction from helping his customers out.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Karen; and five children: Rod (Julie) Lehmann, JoAnn (John) Kuball, Vicky (Brian) Thostenson, Darcy Lehmann, and Tanya Hobert; he was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eileen Lehmann; and special nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lucille, brother, Bobby, and sisters, Annarita and Henrietta.
A Celebration of Richard's life will be held at the Ridgewood Golf Course clubhouse (2.5 miles east of Longville on Hwy. 7) on Saturday, May 7, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
