Richard W. Kuschel, 85, of Crosby died on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at his home in Crosby. Services will be held at a later date.
Richard was born on September 17, 1925 in Little Falls, MN to Louis and Ida Kuschel. After graduating from Brainerd High School in 1943 he joined the United States Navy. Kuschel served aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Fanshaw Bay in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1946 he returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Violet Nordin. Richard and his family lived in Riverton for 16 years while he worked for Minnesota Power. He and his wife moved to Crosby in 1987. Richard and Violet were married for 64 wonderful years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, and reading.
Richard is survived by his wife, Violet; five children, Richard Jr. of Effie, MN, Linda of Camp Verde, Arizona, Robert of Ironton, Ronald of Baxter, and Raymond of Ironton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
