Richard Hirschey

Richard Charles Hirschey, age 70, of Brainerd and formerly Staples, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, June 6, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born May 29th, 1946.

Richard served two tours in Vietnam with the Army. He married JoAnn Hirschey and they raised two children in Staples. He was a machinist, resort owner, and had a love for horses, fishing and his family.

Richard is survived by children: Jennifer, Joshua (Nicole); five grandchildren: Torry, Rylie, Zander, Langen, and Gretta; siblings: Daryl Jean Nelson (Chet), Carolyn Donnelly, Bev Skjonsby (Don), Donna Baker, Dareld (Jan), Jerry (Claire), Bob (Maggie), Curt (Barb), Clyde; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Ralph; and brothers: Jim, Don and Jack.

Service will be Friday, June 10, at Motley Free Methodist Church with visitation at 10 AM and service at 11 AM. Burial will be 3 PM on Friday, June 24, at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
