Richard "Dick" LeRoy Evenson, 59, of Pequot Lakes, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, has gone home to his heavenly father on October 26, 2010. A Funeral Service for Dick will held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes, MN. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 5-7 PM Friday evening at Brenny Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will follow at Our Savior's Cemetery.
Dick will be greatly missed by his best friend and wife of 38 years, Leanne, whom he married September 30, 1972; his daughters, Junell (Kevin) Wendt, of Pequot Lakes, Angie (Donnie) Tizzano, of Surprise, AZ, and Cassie (Alvin) Carey, of Valdez, AK; four foster children; many previously loved foster children; grandchildren, Anthony, Hunter, Dominic, Madison, and Alex; siblings, Kenny, Larry, Barb, Debbie, Cindy, Diane, and Brian; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and infant brother Bradley.
Dick was born February 8, 1951, in Brainerd, MN, the son of Lester and June (Field) Evenson. Dick worked for over 30 years for Arvig Telephone Company. He retired in 2004 and has since been driving bus for the Pequot Lakes School District. Dick was a member of the Pequot Lakes Fire Department for over 21 years.
Dick was a generous, loving man. His wife, daughters, and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He especially loved watching his girls grow up and play sports. He loved his fire department friends, hunting, and fishing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Pequot Lakes.
