Richard Chenoweth

Richard "Dick" Chenoweth, passed away November 16, 2010, at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday November19, 2010, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Friends and relatives are invited to gather on Thursday November 18th from 5 - 7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples with prayers at 6:45 PM. Interment will be at 9:30 AM on Friday November 19, 2010, at the Minnesota Veteran Cemetery in Little Falls before the service at the church.

Dick was born 19 August 1931, to Edgar and Eva (Sarff) Chenoweth in Staples. At the age of 16, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served 23 years and received the Bronze Star. During his military career he served 2 tours in Korea, he also served in Germany, Taiwan, Vietnam and the United States.

On February 16, 1954, he married Virginia Bartylla. Together they raised four children, while serving in the Air Force. Dick retired from the Air Force in 1971 and moved back to Staples with his family.

Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years Virginia; two daughters, Barbara (Allan) Erbe and Christy (Eugene) Boelz, both of Staples; two sons, John (Sheryl) of Browerville and Michael of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; sisters, Evelyn (Sis) Olsen, Kathleen (Coty) Barnett, Jean Bartylla and one grandson, Ryan Boelz.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
