Richard A. Anderson (Dick) died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday July, 26th 2017 at the age of 83. Dick was born August 25, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Arthur E.L. and Freda Anderson. On August 28, 1954, Dick was united in marriage to Susan Millicent Fuller and together they raised three children, Kathryn Mason, Brainerd, MN, Carolyn (Gary) Beckley, Boring, OR, and Karl (Stacy) Anderson, Deep Haven, MN.
Dick graduated from University of Minnesota in 1955 with a business degree. Dick was an active member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity during his college years. Dick opened his own realty firm in 1970, Richard Arthur Anderson Realty, in Minneapolis, MN. Dick enjoyed the business greatly and all the people that he met. Dick was involved in many community organizations, including Sons of the American Legion and The Shriners. Dick was a member of the Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake, MN for the past 40 years. Dick also was a member, in his younger years, of the Mayflower Church in Minneapolis, MN as well as a member of their church community in Apache Junction, AZ.
Dick and Sue spent their retirement by separating time between Apache Junction, AZ in the winters and enjoying their beautiful cabin on Clamshell Lake in Pequot Lakes, MN in the summers.
Dick enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Dick especially loved time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; seeing their smiles and laughter as they bounded down the hill of the lake cabin always brought him great joy. Dick enjoyed entertaining at their lake cabin and participating in activities in their church communities.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Susan, sister Karen (Bill) Johnson Edina, MN; his three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, extended family members and numerous dear friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Freda, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Dick's service will be at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 35960 County Rd. 66 in Crosslake on Saturday, August 5 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Crosslake Lutheran Church Columbarium, Crosslake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
