Rev. Leaf

Reverend Glenn R. Leaf, age 78, of Breezy Point, completed his baptismal journey Friday, December 13, 2013.

Glenn was born in Richfield, MN, May 20, 1935, to Arvid and Bessie Leaf. He grew up in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from Marshall High School, St. Paul, class of 1953. Glenn attended Gustavus Adolphus College, St Peter, MN, and Augustana Theological Seminary, Rock Island, Illinois. Glenn was ordained in Seattle, WA, in 1961, and served parishes in Port Byron, DeKalb, and Olney, Illinois. In Minnesota, he served Calvary Lutheran, 39th and Chicago, Minneapolis. He served on the Minnesota Synod staff as co-director of Urban Missions, 1981-1987. Glenn then responded to the call to Interim ministry, and served 25 congregations, currently serving Faith Lutheran, Swanburg, at the time of his death.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Patricia Lundeen; children: Aaron, Chris (Cristy), Nathan (Keri), Hannah, Jake (Michelle), Aaron (Anna); siblings: Earl (Helen Jo), Lorraine (Paul Stavig), Del (Lorrie), and Carol (Irven Nelson); grandchildren: Sonya, Maeve, Gavyn, and Collin.

A worship service praising God for Glenn's life will be 1 PM on Monday, December 23, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brainerd. All those interested in singing with the worship choir should attend rehearsal at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Brainerd New Pathways Homeless Shelter or the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) World Hunger fund.
