Regina Ashley Springs - Brown, 28 of Brainerd, passed away on May 16, 2021. A memorial service will be 1pm June 5, 2021 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Visitation will start at 11am before the service.
Regina "Gina" Ashley Springs-Brown was born on August 1st, 1992 in Chicago, IL to Vance Brown and Mary Springs who proceed her in death. Regina moved to MN at a young age and graduated from Brainerd HS. Regina passed away May 16, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Regina had many jobs but she was most passionate about her career as a Phlebotomist (and for those that don't know what that is, she loved to draw blood from patients). Her favorite pass times were spent singing, dancing, joking to make those around her laugh, and "keepin' it real". More than anything, Gina loved hard. She lit up any room she walked into and brought a sense of security and peace to everyone around her. Her laugh and smile were infectious. Although cut short, she used her time here to touch and change so many lives. She lived with no fear or shame, nothing, and nobody could hold her back. Through to the very end, she was and always will be a fighter. Cancer doesn’t care, it has no boundaries. But neither does love. Gina will always live on in the hearts and homes of those who loved her most.
Regina is survived by her beautiful 7-year old daughter Kaymiah Johnson (Timothy Johnson) of Brainerd, MN, her father Vance Brown of Chicago, Ill, siblings Denette Johnson of Brainerd, MN, Denise Rule of Chicago, Ill, Rodney Springs of St. Cloud, MN, Dewayne Laster of Chicago, Ill, Pierre Brown of Chicago, Ill, Vernita Brown-Miller of Chicago, Ill, Remington Brown of Chicago, Ill, and Gabrielle Springs-Brown of Brainerd, MN. She also leaves behind a ton of nieces and nephews; Shalamar, Louie, Kenny, Dewight, Rodney Jr., and Issy, just to name a few. And a very special thanks to Alissa Rennie of St. Joseph, MN, and Morgan Morris of Duluth, MN. Regina will always live on in the hearts and homes of those who loved her most.
