Raymond Romig

Raymond R. Romig, 86, of Motley, MN died on Friday, December 20, 2013. Services for Raymond will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN with visitation two hours prior to services, with Pastor Mel Nefstead officiating. Intermet at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

Raymond was born July 5, 1927 in Delhi, Iowa to Cecil and Matilda (Woelert) Romig. He met and married Doris Schmiesser on June 13, 1959 in South St. Paul. Raymond was a member of the 82nd Airborne and served in the US Army during World War II. He retired to Motley, MN in 1988 where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Doris; four children, Kenneth of Motley, MN, Joan (Arthur) McCarty of Roy, UT, William of Florence, CO, Sharon (James) Koller of Newport, MN, one sister, Velda (Joe) Leckington of Coggon, IA; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harlan, Harold, Leonard, Lester, Donald, Wilbur and sister, Hilma.
