Raymond Holmes, age 86, of Pine Center, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 30, 1922 in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Claude and Constance (Litchy) Holmes, He moved with his family to the Holdingford area before coming to live in Pine Center, MN.
Raymond was a veteran of the Army Air Corp in WWII. He was a member of the Electrical Union 242. He worked many years for Holden Electric. Raymond has been active as a Boy Scout leader, election official, gun safety trainer and in many other community activities. He enjoyed gardening furniture making and could fix almost anything. Ray was always ready to help others.
Ray is survived by his wife, Sandra "Kay" (Christopherson) Holmes; sons, Daniel (Andrea) Holmes, Mike (Carole) Holmes, Randy (Michelle) Christopherson; daughters, Nancy Huckstead, Lori (Hank) Schleber, Aimee (Matt) Brask; sisters, Julia Wellentin and Caroline (Bill) Anderson; brother, Cyril (Hazel) Holmes; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Irene (Ray) Kuschel; his parents Claude and Constance Holmes; and his son-in-law Paul Huckstead.
