Raymond Emil Hoffman, 82, born January 3, 1941, to Emil and Lena Hoffman in Fairhaven, MN. Funeral services for Ray will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6311 Mildred Road, Baxter MN 56425. Visitation 10:00am prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will be served following the service. Interment will be at a later date at the Ogema Point Cemetery in Cushing, MN.

 

Ray graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1959 and continued on to Northwestern Technical College.

 

Ray was married to Carol Beckman on August 31, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN. They raised their three children, Sheri, Jodi, and Jeffrey in Shakopee, MN.

 

Ray worked for Hitchcock Industries for 42 years as a metallurgical engineer. He worked on projects for the aerospace industry for aircraft and the space shuttle as well as projects for the automotive industry including the Corvette engine. Ray was ambitious, building two family homes in Shakopee and Lake Alexander. In addition, he had a side business Raco Corp., building trailers, docks, and boat lifts.

Ray and Carol retired March 1, 2001, and moved to Lake Alexander in 2003 where he did crop farming for 19 years through the harvest of 2022. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler. He cherished his family and friends and all the wonderful times together.

 

Ray is survived by his devoted wife Carol of 59 years; three children, Sheri (Frank Precopio) Hoffman, Excelsior, MN, Jodi (Jeffrey) Wieczorek, Eagan, MN, and Jeffrey (Allison) Hoffman, Prior Lake, MN; five grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, and Megan Wieczorek, Nathan and Lauren Hoffman; sisters, Elaine (John) Fahsl, Brenham, Tx, Gloria Gasser, Monticello, MN; sister-in-law Irene Hoffman, St. Cloud, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by parents Emil and Lena Hoffman and brother Carl Hoffman.
