Raymond James Godbout, 78, of Brainerd, died at Hills Crossing Nursing Home in Nisswa on Monday, November 16, 2015. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 23 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a reception to follow.
Raymond was born November 18, 1937 in St. Paul, MN, the son of David and Laura (Kelly) Godbout. He graduated from Ramsey High School and continued his education at Mankato State College. He enlisted in the National Guard. He married Diane Kampfer on June 11, 1960. Raymond worked for McGill Jensen Printing for over forty years. In addition, he also coached wrestling and was a Referee for AAU Wrestling League. Raymond enjoyed being active - he played softball, football, wrestling, golf and bowling. He also liked woodworking, hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He will be missed by his children, Mitchell (Cindi), of Casselton, ND, Dan, of Brainerd, Missy (Mark) Best, of Nisswa, and Patty (Jay Hankerson) Godbout, of Dublin, CA; grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel Jr, Michelle, Michael, Nicole, Tyler, Travis, Brent, Shawna, Chrissy, and Abbie; his sister, Millie Godbout; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, David, Jr., and infant sister, Corrin.
