Raymond C. Disterhaupt, 83, of Brainerd, MN died on Monday, February 3, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services for Raymond will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Raymond was born on October 18, 1930 in Atkinson, Nebraska to Frank and Ida (Braun) Disterhaupt. He married Donna Wodercheck in May of 1951. Ray and Donna moved to Pillager, Minnesota in February of 1956, where he and his family owned and operated at cattle beef farm until his retirement. Raymond and Donna then began to travel for a few years before returning to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Raymond was in the home remodeling business and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna; children, Charles (Ann) Disterhaupt of Arkansas, Dorothy (Stan) Lound of Texas, Calvin Disterhaupt of Pillgaer, MN, Sheryl Disterhaupt of Brainerd, MN, Marilyn (James) Shipmen of Louisiana, Clyde Disterhaupt of Pillager, MN, and Chester (Patty) Disterhaupt of North Carolina; brothers and sisters, Anna Mullen, Frank Disterhaupt Jr, Doris Terwilliger, Herman Disterhaupt, Marianne McDanielle, Lonnie Disterhaupt, Ed Disterahaupt, Clem Disterhaupt, and Alden Disterhaupt; and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida; brother, Jay; and two granddaughters, Trista and Becky.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
