Rausie Jo Cummings of Pine River/Manhattan Beach died unexpectedly on September 10, 2020. At only 16 years old at the time of her death, Rausie touched the lives and hearts of countless people. Although her earthly body is no longer with us, her soul will guide us with the bright shining light of everything she was during her short time on this earth.
Rausie was an old soul known to many of her friends as "mom". She was always there with her mom purse full of anything anyone may need. She excelled at everything she did, making her 4.0 GPA look effortless. Her love of family and friends was endless. Rausie was thoughtful and diligent and had a plan for all she had yet to do in life. She developed a love of travel at a young age having travelled to Washington DC, New York City, Arizona, Canada, Florida and most recently on a cruise to The Bahamas where many memories were made with her friends. She would have travelled the world had she been given more time.
During her time in school she was active in many things. She was never one to miss a school event. Rausie was mature beyond her years and was frequently found greeting and interacting with the adults/parents during those events. Her latest school passions included student council, managing the Road Crew Wrestling team and participating in the high school band. You could always find her name on the honor roll and starting in the 2020 school year she had taken up her first of many college courses that would have been ahead. Her contagious smile will forever be imprinted on the hearts of the teachers and students at Pine River Backus High School. Rausie had what some might call a job at Bites Grill and Bar in Pine River, but it was so much more to her than just a job. She was proud to work there, made lasting friendships with those she worked with and was recently promoted to Server.
Rausie loved the outdoors. Whether it be paddle boarding and spending time on the lake or gardening and picking berries in the woods, she had a smile on her face and joy in her heart when outside. At a young age she took on a love of baking that turned into a love of cooking. She enjoyed meal planning and cooking for her family. As a young lady, she grew to love interior decorating and fashion.
Rausie will be forever missed and eternally celebrated by her parents, Stacy and Jason Meyers and Jim Cummings. She is also survived by her siblings, James Cummings and Dalten Meyers; grandparents, Duane and JoAnn Hoefs, Karen Tutch, and Dianne Cummings; step-grandmas, Judy Meyers and Kim Peterson; aunts and uncles: Elly Cummings, Chad (Angie) Hoefs, Curt Hoefs, Shari (Aaron) Kamholz, Tracy (Jeremy) Lofgren, Josh (Salome) Meyers, Jeromy (Angie) Meyers; cousins: Gus and Greta Hoefs, Maverik Kamholz, Blake, Brandon, and Logan Lofgren, Kylah and MacKenzie Meyers; beloved bulldog, Covie; special family, Eric, Cristina, Caleb and Brady Ruhl; as well as many extended family and friends that she considered family.
